Over the years, welcoming guests has always been about more than a place to stay — it’s about providing a comfortable, peaceful home base while people explore somewhere new. As travel plans evolve, so has our little corner of hospitality.

Today, we’re happy to share that our website now reflects two special places: Oxford Court, just outside Nashville, and The Chalet in Bowling Green, Kentucky. While the locations are different, the heart behind each stay remains the same — lovely spaces, quiet comfort, and a genuine desire for guests to feel at home.

Moving forward, this site will continue to share local favorites, nearby places to explore, and small updates along the way. Whether you’re visiting Tennessee or Kentucky, we’re grateful you’re here and we look forward to providing you with a wonderful stay in either location.

Visit Arrington Vineyards in Franklin, TN

Our Story
Arrington Vineyards opened its doors July 1, 2007. Since then, we have been providing a “wine country experience” of award winning wines set among the picturesque rolling hills of middle Tennessee.  Owned by country music artist Kix Brooks, winemaker Kip Summers, and entrepreneur John Russell, Arrington Vineyards has truly become “Nashville’s Wine Country”.

Our vineyards were originally established in 2003, when Kip and a fellow wine enthusiast and their families purchased a 25 acre hog farm and began clearing the property and planting grapevines. In 2004, Kix purchased the farm adjacent to the original vineyards - which included the farmhouse that eventually became the winery tasting room. Together, they began creating a first class winery with the working name of Firefly Vineyards. This name was later changed to reflect the local community of Arrington, Tennessee.

In 2005, the vineyards were expanded and the partners began working with Williamson County to create a whole new class of county zoning that would allow the winery to have a tasting room and retail store. The first two vintages of wine (2005 and 2006) were made by Kip at Beachaven Vineyards & Winery in Clarksville, TN where he had been winemaker for 11 years. Construction on the AV winery began in late 2006.

By April 2007, the winery was officially licensed, our wine and equipment moved in, and bottling commenced. Arrington Vineyards quickly established itself as a first class operation – winning “Best of Show” at the Wines of the South Competition for its 2004 Syrah and quickly selling out of our 2005 vintage in a few months.

In May 2008, John Russell joined our Arrington Vineyards partnership, adding his keen sense of business to an already strong partnership and management team. We also continued to expand our vineyards and began distributing our wines throughout middle Tennessee via Lipman Brothers.

We established our exclusive “Kix’s Wine Club” in 2009 and we now ship wine to thousands of club members in 35 states from California to Maine. AV wines have also been featured in restaurants in NYC, New Orleans, and across the state of Tennessee.

Since its inception, Arrington Vineyards has focused on quality while continuing to develop and grow. We invite everyone to visit and experience our version of "wine country".

Downtown Nashville is 'Dancin' In The District!'

FROM NASHVILLE CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU: NCVC Partners with Nashville Dancin’ for July 4th

"Re-cap of the first two weeks of Nashville Dancin'Big thanks to everyone attending the first two weeks of Nashville Dancin’ presented by Dollar General! The first week of Nashville Dancin’ kicked off with the funky rhythms of Belmont boys, The Lonely Biscuits, and the soulful southern rock roots sounds of 18 South.  As the sun dipped low on the horizon, the heartfelt blues music of Tommy Malone kept the crowd engaged. The evening was capped off with the jam-band sound and jambalaya goodness of Donna the Buffalo's tunes, which had the whole Riverfront up and moving.

The second Thursday night in this free summer concert series turned out to be just as exciting! A great crowd turned out for some remarkable performances.  Britt Ronstadt provided a jumpstart to the festivities with her unique, sweet voice and soulful renditions.  By the time Raelyn Nelson took the stage, the entire crowd was in full swing. As dusk fell on the beautiful downtown Nashville skyline, the McCrary Sisters had everyone on their feet and singing along to some great gospel tunes. Royal Southern Brotherhood continued the dancing with their thundering rock ‘n’ roll sounds of the south, and as a special treat, the band brought Britt Ronstadt out for a collaborative performance. Finishing off the night in true Dancin’ style, Shooter Jennings closed out a fun-filled night of entertainment on the RIverfront and delivered an unforgettable show.

As part of Nashville Dancin’ charitable donation efforts, concert goers were able to lend their support to the Monroe Carrell Jr. Foundation, the PENCIL Foundation, and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation by purchasing event t-shirts designed by local artists Ryan McCauley and Sheila B.  T-shirts were made available at Music City’s first mobile fashion truck, The Trunk. Guests washed down the sweet sounds of the night with some quality crafted Tennessee Ole Smoky Moonshine, and chowed down on yummy eats provided by local food trucks.

Be sure to visit us this Thursday for the third installment of Nashville Dancin’ presented by Dollar General on the beautiful downtown Nashville Riverfront."

Another Great Year at CMA Week in Nashville

Another Great Year at the CMA’s!

Thousands of people from all over the world crowded into downtown Nashville, TN. Each of our vacation rentals were full of families and friends here for the CMA's. Two lovely ladies (who are sisters) stayed in our upstairs suite for the week. Every morning they would come down around 7:30AM ready to go another day not returning until 2:00 in the morning, what amazing women! Their comment about it all was, “it’s just so much fun!”

These women are more than fans. They know the stars and the stars know them. One day they took a guitar with them to have country stars sign it. They said they were taking it back to the restaurant they own in Arkansas where the guitar was going up on the wall. As a matter of fact, they said the restaurant's walls are covered with country stars picture's taken with the two ladies.

These ladies reported that from their experience at the CMA's, there was lots of free food, as vendors lined the streets. I asked them if there was music in the streets and they said there was music everywhere you walked!

These ladies absolutely love Nashville and come back every year.  I asked one sister why and she said, "the people in Nashville are good people." She went on to say she watched how the City handled the big flood a few years ago and observed how they all pitched in and helped each other in their time of need. This really impressed her. It’s true, Nashville is a friendly City and we hear that from our guests all the time.

We hope you can come to next year's CMA events. Be sure to find your lodging early as people begin making their reservations a year in advance. We hope you don't need the CMA's as an excuse to visit Nashville, as Nashville IS Music City, and there is always something fun going on here, so we hope to see you soon!

Yummy Butternut Squash Soup

3/30/2013

Picture
 Lee’s Gourmet Butternut Squash Soup
I made this soup tonight and it was very tasty and filling!
This is a thick and hardy soup that will warm you right
up on a cold, rainy Spring day!

1 small onion (chop in blender)
3 tablespoons butter or coconut oil
1 carrot…( more if you like carrot)
Chop in blender
2 medium potatoes peeled and cubed
1 medium butternut squash, peeled, seeded and cubed
¼ cup of honey
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup ½ and ½ cream (eliminate if milk intolerant)
1 32 oz. container chicken stock (organic)
Nutmeg

Peel and cut up potatoes and squash.  Boil potatoes and squash in water in soup pan.  Boil until soft. Drain potatoes then place in Blender and puree adding chicken stock.  Only fill half full and leave corner of lid up to relieve pressure.
Place chopped carrots and onion in fry pan and cook until tender.  Add honey. Place mixture in blender and puree.

Place Potatoes, squash mixture back into soup pan and add the carrot mixture.  Add the ½ and ½ and salt and pepper. Heat until hot.
Sprinkle a little nutmeg on soup.  Yum!

Great with homemade Southern-style cornbread!

  Enjoy!
